Our History

Drs. Robert A. Pflederer and R. Kent Bryan co-founded RenalCare Associates in 1975. Over the years, this group of nephrology professionals gained even greater expertise through the addition of a Board-certified transplant surgeon (Dr. O'Connor), 17 Board-certified nephrologists, and seven physicians with certification from the American Heart Association (Dr. Alonso, Dr. Jacob, Dr. Khattak, Dr. Rosborough, Dr. Sparrow, Dr. R. Alla, Dr. S.Alla, and one Physician Assistant, Holly Walker).* Our team also expanded to include a physician assistant, ten family nurse practitioners, and an adult health clinical nurse specialist, as well as an executive administrator and director of operations.

RenalCare Associates offers consultations with other physicians to help them gain a deeper understanding of our nephrology care services.

*Note: The Certified Specialists program was introduced by the American Heart Association as part of a coordinated effort to efficiently manage hypertension and health problems related to this condition. Specialists who are given this designation have been recognized as having knowledge, skills and expertise in managing clinical hypertension and related disorders. These specialists are able to serve as consultants for complex cases and provide guidance and advice on guidelines for hypertension management.
