Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Hsu completed an American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) accredited abdominal transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia (2008-2010). He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Missouri in Kansas City School of Medicine (2003-2008). Prior to that, he received his M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City (2003). The Illinois Kidney Disease and Hypertension Center welcomed Dr. Hsu to the team in July of 2012.
Dr. Hsu grew up in Wichita, Kansas and is excited to be in Peoria, nearer to his Midwest roots. He brings a broad experience to his position. His clinical interests include kidney and pancreas transplantation in adults and children, live kidney donor surgery, vascular surgery, endocrine surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, hernia surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Hsu is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, Vascular Access Society of the Americas and the American College of Surgeons.
